Free From Imprisonment

1. Never read a sentence and accept it as true without allowing your analytical mind to operate. Your rational decision making is your foundation to everything you know. As children, we are trained to take everything at face value. But the world we live in is an illusion and before consuming information, we must be aware of the context.
2. As Americans, we see history through “The American Narrative” instead of the Human Narrative. Awareness of our context is important. Our American Narrative creates disharmony between humanity. In our most modern education system the history of human civilization begins with Greek philosophers and American history begins with Christopher Columbus. It is disconcerting that we still study history in this paradigm, but once mindful of the inflicting effects of this structure we will be able to free ourselves of this imprisonment.
